What the register is
The register is a paid listing of brands and suppliers working in the UK cosmetics sector. It is one of the two ways this publication is funded, and it is designed so that money buys visibility and nothing else.
Every entry is published in alphabetical order. Every entry carries the word paid. Every entry contains only facts the company has disclosed and that a reader can verify independently: the legal entity name, the company number, the categories it operates in, and any certifications it holds together with the scope and the issuing body.
The register is currently empty
| Entity | Categories | Status |
|---|---|---|
| No entries yet | Not applicable | Open for applications |
We are saying so plainly rather than seeding it with unpaid placeholder entries to make it look established. An empty paid directory is what a new paid directory looks like. Filling it with companies who have not applied would be a small deception about a small thing, which is exactly the kind of thing this publication exists to point out in others.
What the register is not
- Not a ranking. There is no order other than alphabetical, no score, no tier and no featured position. Position cannot be bought because there is no position to buy.
- Not an endorsement. We have not assessed the work, the quality, the pricing or the conduct of any entrant, and an entry is not a recommendation.
- Not editorial. No entrant can be mentioned in an article, because our articles name no companies at all.
- Not a review. We publish no commentary on entrants, favourable or otherwise.
- Not verified by us beyond the checkable. We check that a company number resolves and that a claimed certification names a scope and an issuing body. We do not audit anybody.
Who it is for
Contract manufacturers, raw material suppliers, packaging component suppliers, testing laboratories, regulatory consultancies and safety assessors, and brands who want a plain factual entry. It is aimed at readers who need to find a category of supplier and want a starting list rather than a verdict.
Criteria and fees
The full criteria, the required disclosures, the fee and the grounds for refusal and removal are published on the criteria and fees page. We publish them so that any departure from them would be visible to you rather than only to us.
